Clifton Beach
CliftonLocated behind Lions Head lies the Blue Flag beaches of Clifton which are popular with Capetonians especially in summer when they are well protected from the south-easter wind.
The area is divided into 4 coves called 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. The most popular of these is 4th as it is the largest and has changing rooms and bathroom facilities. Each beach has a unique identity, and are reached by stairs leading down from the road above.
The beaches have beautiful white sand and clear blue waters, and are bordered by rocky boulders dividing the coves. Behind the beaches looms the picturesque Lion's Head, making for the perfect backdrop.
